Social events organised by the MCA include a barbecue after the AGM, our Mt Cawte Ascent (view pictured above), a New Year’s Day Fun Day held at Double Bay, a Pétanque gathering, our Mid-Winter Xmas party and regular (mostly) monthly Social Sunday's, all of which are advertised in our seasonal newsletter and emailed out to the residents along the road.
A great family event with a huge selection of races, culminating in a grant tag of war, and a lolly scramble for the kids. Usually held on the 1st of January.
The AGM is sometimes followed by a guest speaker or AED training, and then a BBQ. All residents welcome. Usually held on the 2nd of January.
The annual petanque competition is an event full of friendly rivalry and followed by a social gathering.
This challenging walk to the top of Mt Cawte to see the sunrise is a special event to celebrate the shortest day of the year.
Held in a private residence this is a great festive celebration in the middle of winter.
Historically hosted along the road with our own Quiz Master we now hold this event at the local Queen Charlotte Tavern
Held at the Moetapu Bay Jetty in association with the Jetty Association this is a fun afternoon of fishing for the kids, followed by a prizegiving and social bbq.
Held most months in peoples homes along the road, these nights are a great chance to meet other residents along the road and enjoy a relaxing couple of hours. Everyone brings along a plate of food to share and their own refreshments. Usually held on the 3rd Saturday of the month however this can differ.
